I am distraught! I have just had an email from ‘whatsonstage.com’ saying that Priscilla will most likely finish at the end of the year. I have been 3 times in the last 8 months and can’t get enough of this fantastic show. Why finish so soon? Will it tour? I can’t imagine never being able to see it again! ‘Don’t leave me this way’ Priscilla!!!

Went to see Priscilla last night and it was outstanding. Brilliant performance from everyone, and would definatly go again. Only thing I didn’t like was the seats we were in was balcony row L. Very steep and at times we didn’t see everything that was going on stage, but still could hear the performance. Would get seats closer to the front next time! Everyone was up singing and dancing at the end, a great atmosphere. Felicia was amazing. 10/10 highly recommended

Hi there,

Obviously the more expensive tickets give you a better view and experience. The restricted seats vary depending where they are. It is worth calling the Box Office 0844 755 0016 to speak to them about it in more depth, and they can work out what would suit you best. Alternatively if you can get 12 people together for your mum’s birthday you get a group discount. So the top price tickets are reduced to £39.75 from £65.

Best,

Priscilla

by vikkimc

March 25th, 2011 at 4:47 pm

I am thinking of booking tickets for my Mums 60th for 8 of us. The tickets seem to be pretty expensive unless you go for the ones marked ‘restricted’ or steep! How bad is the ‘cheaper’ seating?

Have seen the show 3 times now it gets better every time. Is there going to be a cd released by the london cast and will the show released on a dvd

by Jonboy1

February 5th, 2011 at 1:54 pm

Unless I went to a different show from everyone else, I would say this was a waste of £65. It was effectively a one-joke show, and not a very good one. It mistook coarseness for cleverness in humour; the unfunny Graham Norton would have loved it. The best applause was for the mimed opera: they were applauding the opera, not the mime. I can get the real thing at the opera, thanks.
Admitted, those around me were convulsed in laughter, but I suspect that said more about them than the show.

I went to the show last night with friends, We came over from Ireland to see it…
The show was phenominal - costume changes, makeup, songs, dances, sets etc…
I can not stop talking about how fantastic it was and left the show on a high.
It was great to see Ray Meagher on stage I grew up watching him on home & away and to see him up close in such a phenominal show was amazing.
I thought he gave Bob real heart and made every one of us fall in love with him. He stood his ground on the stage surrounded by beautiful amazing singers & dancers and was never over shadowed by the fantastic costumes around him.
Well done ray…

I will definitely be coming back to london to see this show again…

I saw the show July 20 in London almost by accident, my friends and I at first could not agree on what to go to. Best compromise ever. We were blown away by the energy and the joy of the whole thing. The divas and the cast has made us smile for days afterwards. I also bought the soundtrack to the show.
And it was nice to see Tinky Winky play his part so well, stellar performance.

Don as Bernadette - wow! Great casting across the board and the Divas, their voices are incerdible.

You really have to see this show

I want to say a big thank you for the wonderful treatment we received yesterday at Priscilla. I brought my disabled mother in her wheelchair and the care and consideration we received was fabulous. So a big thank you all, but particularly to John who made the show such a fantastic experience and even fetched our ice creams in the interval. We will be telling everyone how super the front of house staff are, such a refreshing change in today’s world. Truly ‘A ride to the Heart of Fabulous.’

Saw the show on the 9th of April for the third time, first time with the new cast changes so we were a bit dubious if the new cast could live up to the greatness and magic produced form the old cast. I must say the new cast members are brilliant although I don’t recall seeing the giant shoe come out into the audience and maybe saw slightly less of the 3 divas not sure on that one could just be that they are so fabulous that I wanted to see even more of them. Either way hopefully will make it a fourth time!

There are so many things to say about this musical. I saw the show a few days ago and this is the best one I have ever seen. Priscilla Queen of the desert is an amazing, exuberant and colourful musical that you won’t be able to forget. It just blew me away!! Everything was perfect, from performers who were fantastic to flamboyant costumes, or dazzling scenery. The production has exchanged the Abba songs used in the film for mainly gay disco hits like Bogie Wonderland or I will survive. You will love the pink bus on which Mitzi, Bernadette (my favourite) and Felicia want to bring their drag show to the middle of the australian desert. The West end has never seen such glitter, wigs, lipstick and camp attitude until Priscilla Queen of the desert arrived in 2009. This show really deserves the very long standing ovation and Priscilla is the perfect and joyful antidote to a world of hatred and violence. I can’t wait to go again……..

Came from Toronto Canada to see this musical.
Best I’ve ever seen.
Three sexiest “ladies” theatres ever seen for sure! Again.. amazing costumes, music and acting. My mother loved it.

We’ll definetly be back to London to see this again.

Kanako Nakano was especially hilarious.
I’m sure every woman will fall in love with Jason, Tony and Oliver in this musical. We couldn’t stop smiling for hours after.

Bravo, we’ll see you again soon!
Lots of love from Canada!

Went to See priscilla for the first time last night and me and my friend had the best time EVER! the costumes were absolutely AMAZING, and the whole concept of the show was great, and it had a great message, that you shouldn’t be ashamed of who you are :) I was expecting Jason Donovan to be appearing in the show but unfortunately he was not in it, but Craig Ryder was soooooo FANTASTIC! i last saw Craig as a rebel leader in we will rock you and he was extremly different as a drag queen, and he pulled it off extremly well! i thought oliver and tony were also brilliant and were extremely funny!
you couldnt help but to sing along to every song in this, and i couldnt stop smiling the whole way through! A truely amazing show which i would recomend to EVERYONE!!!! TRULEY FABULOUS DARLINGS!!

Went on a Monday night - 1st of June. Totally Loved it! Wished the audience had been more camp and interactive! We would go again -on a weekend just to have a better audience! We laughed hard and long even though the script feels like a Carry On … up the Drag Fest! Our straight mates were uninitiated and did not understand Drag and why they don’t actually lip sinc fully. I think this got in the way of their full enjoyment. eg: They were very curious about Felicia and the Operatic Shoe sinc and I would’ve prefered the show to have explained this more. Sceptics will not fail to be impressed by the production values, sets, scenery and costume changes etc. A complete spectacle! a superb omage to Drag and all things campness. A ride! Great transitions and very pacey in contrast to the movie. We sat in front row of dress circle - absolutely fabulous unobstructed view. Yes the theatre is old and the leg room is a bit tight, but the show keeps you entertained so you barely notice. We will return. We will be giving tickets as a civil partnerhip gift.

Went to the matinee performance on Saturday 23rd May - Priscillia is one of my favourite films and the theatre production did not disappoint - I think EVERY cast member put their heart and soul into the performance - visually amazing - this has to be one of the best shows I have ever seen - I have never felt the need to see any show twice - but am seriously tempted to go back again it was that good!!!! Well done Guys xx

What a show!! Unbelievable!! The energy, colours, songs, costumes - the insanity of it. Joined a sell-out show on 18-04-09: hands still ache from the clapping. Tears of laughter from the dancing cupcakes - you’ll know waht I mean when you see it! Was a fan of the movie - am a great fan of the stage show. See it whilst you can.

Well I saw it in Sydney and loved it so much that I saw it again. I found myself in London and didn’t care about the price. I wanted the Stalls towards the front(but NOT the aisle seats). I still get choked up in certain scenes and I want to dance the whole way through(but not on stage). I can’t wait ’til it crosses the pond into Canada(Toronto)!! Bravo!!!

Definitely the best big show treat since Mama Mia. It has absoutely everything that a big show should have, in spades - heart, fun, laughter and spectacle. Can’t wait to see it again when our mate Mark is covering Bernadette. and it won’t be the last time - best few hours of theatre we’ve seen in years!

WHEW! I have been so dismayed since out stupid TV station chanel 7 announced that ‘Pricilla’ had opened to ‘mixed reviews’.
I saw it in Sydney last Oct and us over 60 year old ladies were sat in the 3rd row, and screamed and stamped our feet, in joy and generally behaved like hooligans. ESPECIALLY the thai strip-tease……
I also wrote Tony a letter telling him the above, and was surprised and DELIGHTED when I got a post-card, thanking me, from him.

just been to see the show and thought it was amazing. performances, costumes, music…………the whole shebang. if i had any criticism its that there is a difference between a man in drag and a drag queen and although jason donovan was fantastic, he needs to work on the little nuances of drag to make it perfect. go girls!
