Michael Waters
Michael is an award-winning sound designer from Sydney. His recent theatre work includes: High School Musical (Australia), Little Women, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Mum’s the Word 2, Tell Me on a Sunday, Altar Boyz, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (China/Asia), The Rocky Horror Show, We Will Rock You (Asia/New Zealand), Company, Pippin, The King and I (China/Asia), Priscilla - Queen of the Desert (world premiere), The Boy from Oz with Hugh Jackman (2007 Helpmann nomination), The Woman in Black (Australia/Hong Kong/New Zealand - 2007 Helpmann Award), Dusty - The Original Pop Diva (world premiere, 2006 Helpmann Award), Grease - The Arena Spectacular, Saturday Night Fever (Australia/New Zealand/Asia - 2005 Green Room nomination), Dirty Dancing (world premiere, 2005 Green Room Award) and The Full Monty. Sound co-designs include Singin’ in the Rain (2001 Helpmann nomination) and The Boy from Oz with Todd McKenney (2000 Helpmann nomination). Recent work encompassing opera, symphonic and rock concerts throughout Australia and internationally includes: Dead Man Walking, Live Earth - Concert for Climate Change (Sydney), Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Lesley Garrett and Anthony Warlow with the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras, Anthony Warlow with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and, in a former life, Michael toured with acts such as Genesis, Crowded House, Peter Allen, Keith Richards, Phil Collins, Paul McCartney, The Bee Gees, Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Pink Floyd.
