Hugo Harold-Harrison - Ensemble 1st cover Tick

It was incredible covering Tick. I’ve just covered Jason’s holiday for 2 weeks. The new cast opened on the Monday and I was thrown on as Tick on the Wednesday. I knew I would be playing Tick really quickly, so in a way I was more prepared for that than I was for my ensemble role. Everybody in production and stage management were very supportive as I was trying to prepare for both roles. Wednesday was like a rabbit in the headlights, but it was great.

Hugo Harold Harrison
I left Guildford School of Acting and fell into musicals. I went into Oh What a Night that toured around Europe and UK for 2 years and that was the really the best training. Nothing beats learning by experience. Then I did Fame in the West End, followed by Grease and It’s a Wonderful Life. I would have to say that so far Priscilla has been my favourite job.
Priscilla is great fun to be in, but the biggest appeal to joining the cast was the Tick storyline. The weight of the role, it’s subtleties and the colour that it has. The journey actually and metaphorically is huge, which is all encased in this big pink fluffy ball. I also love my ensemble track. For the ensemble it’s great, because the show has vastly different characters in it. The people of Broken Hill are different to the people in the gay bar and from the drag queens in Les Girls. It is a very different and busy ensemble track, you are always on stage or changing costumes and it keeps you on your toes.
My favourite part of the show keeps changing, but at the moment it is Go West. Priscilla, to me, is the best feel good musical in the West End at the moment. If you don’t leave with a smile on your face you are dead inside.

Hi Hugo!
I came to the show on 10th May as my husband gave me tickets to see Jason before the end of his run. We were dissapointed for about 2 mins before we had completely forgotten why we were there!
As a childhood fan of Jason’s I really wanted to see him play the role so we came back today to the matinee. The show was equally fabulous, but I have to say, I thought you were the best Tick! Afterwards you were kind enough to sign my program, Thanks! Also, I thought that you were fab in your ensemble part, by far the smiliest cast member, you can tell that you are having great fun!
We will be back one day and I am recommending monday nights to my friends!

Hi Hugo
We saw the show on the 2nd April, and what an amazing night!!!!! When it first started I was like where is Jason but in no time you had us in the palm of your hand.
The show is just incredible and you were amazing in the part of Tick!!!!!
Its such a shame we live in Edinburgh as I would be going to see it on a monthly basis.
Good Luck

Hi Hugo
Saw you on the 6th April for the first time in the role of Tick (Jason and Craig all other times) and i gotta say you are totally suited to the role, you did it all the justice it deserves.
Met you outside after the show and you came across as a really down to earth guy who didnt mind stopping and chatting with us mere mortals.
Thanks for letting us know that you are on on Mondays until Jason leaves…guess which night we will be going on until then???
See you again very soon
