We asked you to send in your questions for Tony. Here are the second set of them and his answers.

What are your plans for the future?

Its bittersweet leaving Priscilla. Bernadette has been part of my life for 4 years now and it will be strange to see other people do the show when I am not there. There will be a group of people that I’ll never work with. However, I had a very long career before Priscilla came along and I hope it will continue to be as exciting and varied and unexpected as it has been up until this point.

Would you like to see the show with other performers in the role?

I would be curious, but I know from past experience that I get anxious watching it. If the person wasn’t hitting all the notes that I think are there, I would be horrified and if the person was better than me, I would be jealous. So all the emotions would probably be negative, so it would be wise for me to stay away.

How do you make Bernadette different from the two other drag queens in the show?

She’s a woman. I think her fight has been more difficult. The two younger ones have not had to go through the difficulties that Bernadette has gone through. It was a much tougher time back then, You could be arrested for wearing women’s underwear under a man’s suit in the 1960’s, for wearing make up even while dressed as a man. So for Bernadette to be living as a member of the opposite sex at that time, was for her to court constant violence and persecution. The fact that she carved a career for herself and became a star in Les Girls bread a toughness in her that the others don’t have. Felicia is all talk and I don’t think has any sense of history, or that he’s lucky that he can live the life he is. That’s why he jumps in all the time without thinking to situations that could cause a lot of trouble. It’s also bread compassion and an understanding in her.

Which other character would you play in Priscilla and why?

It would be Bob. I would play Bob, because I love Bob and I would love to play the other end of the spectrum.

What is your dream role?

I don’t have a dream role, because I’ve been allowed to play so many roles that I never thought I would play. Most of the roles that I wanted to play; I am now too old play. I am now entering a new age bracket, where I will have to rethink my dream roles. In your brain you always think you are 21 and can play everything, so I’ll need to think about this one a bit.
