Ask Oliver Thornton - Felicia - 3

by Priscilla

Aug.12, 2011, under Cast Blog

We asked you for your questions for Oliver. Here are the last set of them with his fabulous answers.

What is your favourite costume?

I would say Broken Hill. It’s also probably the most iconic one.

If you had to pick a film and an actor from the golden age of Hollywood what would they be?

I read Judy Garland’s autiobiography and I remember a chapter where she said she loved doing Meet Me in St. Louis, because she always felt that she was this ugly character actress that never got to be the beautiful young girl, but in that film she did. When she did Meet Me in St. Louis it was one of the only times on set she was really happy. She was defining for Hollywood in many ways, but when I read her book, there seemed to be many points in her life that were unhappy and because that was such a good time I would probably like to visit her on set and see her being happy.

What is your favourite audience reaction in the show and why?

I love after We Belong. I think the new ending now is stronger. It is more concise and wraps up the story well. I love that it goes straight from We Belong into the finale. It is such a massive show vocally and energy wise and by the time we get there the audiences are going crazy, which kind of sums up how I’m feeling. I feel like I’ve arrived and got to the end and it’s amazing.

Can you describe the backstage camaraderie with the cast?

Unfortunately, because of the nature of the show I have no time backstage when it is on. I have five minutes during Boogie Wonderland, but everyone else is on stage then. All I can say is the cast are amazing and when we are not performing it’s such a fun atmosphere. This show encourages people to let their hair down and have a good time and it’s a joy to be a part of it.

What are you hopes for the future after Priscilla?

The first thing I’m going to do is have a holiday. I’ve always wanted to write a novel so my plan is to find an abandoned shack in Italy, write my novel and grow a beard and some leg hair. Whether that will happen is another thing. I also love my job, so hopefully something great would come up.
