We asked you to send in your questions for Oliver. Here are the third lot of questions and his answers.
If you had to do another show other than Priscilla what would it be and why?
What I really want to do is new work. Having done Priscilla that is the definitely the way I want to go. There was obviously an existing show in Australia, but being the original London company, they gave us license to do what we wanted with the characters. As an actor that gives you so much more scope. It allows you to create different characters rather than stepping into someone else’s shoes. I also love the Disney shows, the huge production values that they take from the screen and duplicate.

What is your dream role?
I have been really lucky. The two main roles that I wanted to do were Rusty in Starlight Express, which I did and I wanted to be in Les Miserables and I was. Also to play Raoul in Phantom was a bit of a dream job. So I have ticked a lot of boxes. If there were new productions of Sunset Boulevard I would love to be Joe Gillis in that. I would love to play Tarzan as well. Swinging in the jungle would be fun.
What is your biggest career achievement so far?
Your first role is a huge achievement, as it is a leap from being an amateur to being a professional. My first job was a huge deal, I remember thinking after that I could die happy having achieved performing professionally on stage. In terms of a more personal level, I would probably say Priscilla because the type of role is totally different to anything else I have played. I was also really anxious about playing comedy and a drag queen. The fact we’ve opened now and the show is a big success and people have given me such good reviews and responses to the way I play the role, definitely makes Priscilla my biggest achievement so far.
When you left school were there any other jobs that you thought of doing?
When I left school I got a place to study fashion and I was pretty much hell bent on doing that. As much as I loved performing it didn’t seem an avenue to go down to make any money. I would have loved to have done some designing. I’ve always said if I ever give this up I would like to go back to University and study law, as it is something that I am interested in. The likelihood is that after 10 minutes I would become incredibly bored and want to be an actor again, so I think I will be sticking with this for a while.
